For its second iteration, we are collaborating with Danny Báez. In addition to organizing exhibitions in New York City, Báez recently opened the Manhattan gallery space REGULARNORMAL. He is the Co-Founder and Director of MECA International Art Fair in San Juan, Puerto Rico, as well as a Co-Founder and Board Member of ARTNOIR.
Báez has invited the artists Melissa Joseph, Devin Osorio, Natalia Nakazawa, Anthony Peyton Young, and Kim Dacres to create new limited editioned works to benefit the non-profit organization Destination Tomorrow. Located in the Bronx, the grassroots agency provides consistent, necessary, and empowering resources to LGBTQ+ individuals, in order to help envision a future with and for them that avoids crisis situations. ART FOR CHANGE will release the five limited edition series weekly, between July 20th and August 17th, 2021. Photo by Sue Ariza.
Changemakers Series - Danny Báez
ART FOR CHANGE’s Changemakers series invites luminaries in the art and cultural sphere to reflect upon the causes that impassion them, and to call upon their networks of artists to create new editions that benefit charities and organizations of their choosing. Presented quarterly, it follows ART FOR CHANGE’S guiding mission of utilizing contemporary art as a vehicle for social change. Through collaboration with a rotating roster of celebrated figures within the art world, Changemakers further enables ART FOR CHANGE to support artists’ practices while addressing a multitude of challenges that face the global community today.
