In Flowers with Plaid, Larsen builds upon her robust practice of otherworldly floral still lifes in elaborate faience, a style of French earthenware produced from the sixteenth through the end of the eighteenth century that gained popularity during the Art Deco period. The artist has hand-embellished each print in the edition with colored pencil, Japanese paper, and acrylic paint making each work unique. |
