ANNOUNCING A NEW HAND EMBELLISHED PRINT BY MAGGIE ELLIS
Presenting "The Big Dance" — An upcoming Limited Edition Release

ART FOR CHANGE is thrilled to partner with artist Maggie Ellis on a new limited-edition print, launching July 29th. This marks our second collaboration with Ellis.

The Big Dance is a dreamlike depiction featuring a frieze of dancers that evoke the saints in El Greco’s Renaissance paintings. A warm, amber haze envelopes the depicted characters, who extend and flail their arms upwards in a jubilant display. In Ellis’s own words, “Everyone has forgotten about their responsibilities, losing themselves to the dance floor….”

For this limited edition series, the artist will hand-embellish ten prints using flashe paint.

A portion of the proceeds will directly support vital reforestation efforts—an essential initiative for protecting our planet and empowering local communities. By restoring forests, we not only safeguard the environment but also strengthen community resilience. At ART FOR CHANGE, we believe fine art and social impact go hand in hand, and we remain committed to offering collectors meaningful works that contribute to a more sustainable future.

ABOUT MAGGIE ELLIS

Maggie Ellis’s paintings recall strangers that the artist notices and observes while walking around New York City. Often depicted in crowded clusters, these figures are reinvented through a rigorous drawing practice, rendered with unique color palettes, and finally revealed through multiple layers of processed abstractions. While the resulting scenes may seem ordinary at first glance, they capture odd moments of theatrical horror and comedy. Ellis’s practice is driven by an interest in the human experience—encapsulating ecstasy, fear, grief, social connection, rage, and envy. Born in Atlanta, GA, and based in New York, NY, the artist has presented solo exhibitions at Charles Moffett, NY; SCAD Museum of Art, Savannah, GA; and Micki Meng, San Francisco, CA.
