All of Tessa Perutz’s paintings commence en plein air. With a keen eye for color and place, she transcribes nature and humans within nature, through sensitive motifs captured across an ever-expanding selection of mediums. Exploring mortality, regeneration, spirituality, death and rebirth, Perutz translates the cycles of human experience and our inter-connectivity through hypnotic simplicity and control.

Each work in the Duo from Cap Ferret, began there - a town near Bordeaux, on the western coast of France. The northern air of the breezy headlands are captured in rich, jewel-toned blues and deep browns. The layering of shape captures the swaying trees while whispering, scratched light blue contours flatten the composition, unifying and elevating the seascape.

Each piece is an original gouache work on paper.

Of these works benefitting Project Healthy Minds, she notes, “I appreciate the inclusive nature of Project Healthy Minds, which grants those who have been previously unable to afford therapy access to guidance in many forms. I feel fortunate to be linked with such a positive and needed organization, one with wonderful intentions and long-term vision.”

ART FOR CHANGE will donate a portion of proceeds from each print sold to Project Healthy Minds in support of the organization’s efforts to democratize access to life-changing mental health services. As in all series, artists will receive 50% of the net proceeds of print sales.
