Kim Dacres

Kim Dacres is a Jamaican American visual artist and Bronx native living in Harlem. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Art Studio and Political Science with a minor in Africana Studies from Williams College. She also has a Master’s degree in Education specializing in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from Lehman College at the City University of New York. She had her first yearlong public art installation, Peaceful Perch, in Harlem’s Marcus Garvey Park in 2018. Since then, Kim has exhibited at A.I.R (Brooklyn, NY), Vis Arts Center (Rockville, MD), Galleria Anna Marra (Rome, Italy), and with her representative gallery, Gavlak Gallery ( Los Angeles, CA). Kim recently finished her fellowship with the Bronx Museum’s AIM program and is preparing for an upcoming solo show at Gavlak Gallery (Palm Beach, FL) in December 2021.
