Jamea Richmond-Edwards

Jamea Richmond-Edwards currently lives and works in Washington, D.C. Born and raised in Detroit, her work is influenced by the styles of the 90’s hip-hop culture that surrounded her growing up. Her strong interest in fashion is reflected in the vibrant colors and textures in her work.

James Richmond-Edwards has exhibited work at several museums including the Delaware Art Museum, the California African American Museum in Los Angeles and the Charles Wright Museum in Detroit. Jamea Richmond-Edwards work was recently acquired by the Rubell Family Collection. She was the recipient of the Joan Mitchell Painters & Sculptors grant in 2018.
