Corey Wash, Tuesdays are for Exercise, 2020; Limited Edition Print
Corey Wash is a multidisciplinary artist from Baltimore working across a diverse range of media. She lives and works between Los Angeles and NY. Mediums include but not limited to illustration, paintings, installations, film and sculpture. Wash has had 3 solo exhibitions, 4 group exhibitions, and many pop up events. Wash makes work that explores the ideas evolving around environment, culture, identity etc. While much of her work is autobiographical, Wash’s go to characters are the voice behind her bold cartoons that expose threats such as misogyny, racism, poverty and more.
Tuesdays are for Exercise is an ode to the everyday person that wants to get out of the house for a little fresh air, whether it’s the biker training for a marathon, the artist walking her dog, or the woman on her lunch break just taking a stroll. This illustration speaks to how people should be able to enjoy their time outside, happy, and safe.
