Caroline Larsen
Caroline Larsen is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist living and working in Brooklyn, New York. Larsen received her BA from the University of Waterloo, ON, Canada and her MFA with distinction from Pratt Institute in addition to a Graduate Diploma in Visual Arts and Art History Education from the University of Auckland. Known for sculpting space and volume out of thick scrapings of oil paints, Larsen’s work examines class, value and signification by marrying storied decorative arts disciplines with a precise, physical technique that creates fantastically vibrant palettes. Recent exhibitions include Chromatic at Over the Influence (Hong Kong, HK); A Confluence of Coastal Creativity at Mindy Solomon Gallery in collaboration with Albertz Benda (Miami, FL); and Double Vision at The Hole (New York, NY), among others.
