Alissa McKendrick

Alissa McKendrick’s enigmatic, semi-narrative scenes of female figures against fields awash with emotive color and wispy details. Her subjects hover between whimsy and the macabre, with a lightness of form and color that merge dreams with nightmares. Her painterly touch and buoyant playfulness bely her vaguely ominous subject matter. The artist attended Rhode Island School of Design and has had solo exhibitions at Collaborations, Copenhagen, Denmark; Team Gallery, New York, NY; Real Fine Arts; Brooklyn, NY; and de boer, Los Angeles, CA.
