Tough Old Birdby Madeleine Bialke Oil painting 34 x 28 inches
Thinking about survivors of past eras and nature's resilience, Bialke uses color to illustrate her personal emotional responses to landscape. This work depicts the oldest, tallest tree of the Five Ponds Wilderness area in the Adirondacks looming in the distance with younger white pine trees at the shore. While heightened wind and rainstorms in recent years have affected many of the tall old trees, this Tough Old Bird survives.
